Digital Music Notebook has an extensive and diverse library of titles to choose from, with new titles being added daily. Finding the title you want is easy: simply browse the list of available titles or search for a specific title using a wide range of criteria. Digital Music Notebook allows you to preview and purchase any titles that interest you at the touch of a button.
To begin your search, click on the Store tab located on the right side of the application. The Digital Music Notebook Store will then be presented below.
Using the Store you can find titles in two ways; using the Search or using the menus.
Finding titles using the Search:
If you have a particular title in mind that you would like to search for, you can find it by using the Search box. The Search box is located on the top right of the Store (shown below highlighted)
To the left of the Search box is a list with the current search criteria ('Artist Name', 'Song Title' and 'Keyword'). 'Artist Name' and 'Song Title' will search specifically in these areas for titles that match your search criteria. By Selecting 'Keyword', you can use a wide range of criteria for your search, not just the name of the title. Examples of valid search criteria are:
To submit the search request, simply type the relevant criteria into the Search box, select the search type, and click the Go button.
You are now presented with summary information for each title. Details for each title can be found by clicking on the title name, or any of the details shown. You can refine the search using the Advanced Search displayed above the results (shown below). Using the Advanced Search you can narrow the results down using criteria such as 'Instrument' to produce a more specific list.
(note: If you wish to perform another search, then repeat the process with new search criteria. If you have searched for a specific title, and wish to see other related titles, i.e. other titles by the same artist, you click on the relevant link in the titles details.)
Using the menus to find titles:
You can search for lesson books or sheet music specifically by using the Store menus. Placing the mouse over either 'Sheet Music' or 'Lesson Books' will display a list with all of the sub-sections for the respective item ('Sheet Music' will contain 'Artist' and 'Author' for example). After you have selected your desired sub-section, you will be presented with a list of corresponding categories. Selecting a category will produce a list of all relevant titles. Exploring the list in this way can be useful if you require inspiration or cannot think of a specific title that you wish to search for.
(note: To be able to preview titles, Digital Music Notebook requires a connection to the Internet. If you experience connection issues, please consult the troubleshooting section.)
Digital Music Notebook allows you to preview ANY of the available titles on demand, which are then delivered digitally to your computer without any cost or obligation to purchase. You can preview as many titles as you wish.
Once you have chosen a title to evaluate from the Store, click on the Preview button and wait a short time while the title is downloaded to your computer. Most titles are small in size, so the download shouldn't take too long, but some of the books are quite large so please be patient. You may also experience a delay if you have a particularly slow Internet connection, for example a 56k dial-up connection. Once this process begins, the download indicator on the screen will let you know exactly how large the download is and give you an indication of progress. Once the download is complete, the title will install onto your computer and Digital Music Notebook will switch to the Player tab.
In preview mode, all of the tools and features within Digital Music Notebook are available to assist your evaluation, with the following restrictions:
You can view which preview titles you have installed by using the My Library tab (see 3.4).
(note: To be able to purchase titles, Digital Music Notebook requires a connection to the Internet. If you experience connection issues, please consult the troubleshooting section.)
You can purchase a title from within Digital Music Notebook and have it delivered digitally in seconds. If you have already previewed the title, then you won't even need a download as you will have it on your computer ready to be unlocked.
After you have found the item you wish to buy in the Store, click Add to Cart to add the title to your purchase list. The title will now be shown inside your cart.
The shopping cart contains a list of the titles that you have chosen to purchase. You can continue browsing and adding multiple titles to the cart before submitting your order. If you add a title in error, then you can easily remove the title from your shopping cart by clicking on the Cart link on the top left of the Store. When you are ready to proceed with your purchase, click on the Checkout button in the cart to advance to the next stage.
(note: Digital Music Notebook currently lists all prices in US dollars ($) however, your actual payment will be processed in your local currency.)
You will now be asked to log into your Digital Music Notebook account by entering your login name and password where requested.
If this is your first purchase, then you will need to create an account at this stage. To create an account you will be led through a short series of screens, and will be required to enter a few simple personal details. For more detail on the account creation process or if you experience any difficulty, please consult the frequently asked questions page.
Once you have logged into your account you will need to enter your payment details.
(note: Your payment details are not stored for security reasons, so you will need to complete this step every time you make a purchase.)
You will then have successfully purchased your title(s). You will receive an e-mail confirming your purchases; please keep this for your records. The title will be downloaded onto your computer, if required, and unlocked, signified by a status window briefly appearing on the screen.
Digital Music Notebook will now open the Player screen, and the title(s) you have purchased will be available to use with the preview restrictions removed.
As you use Digital Music Notebook you will build up a selection of titles that you have previewed and purchased. The My Library tab provides you with an easy way to keep track of your titles.
All of your titles are divided between Lessons and Sheet Music:
You can show and hide details of an item by clicking on the small arrow to the left of a title. The details contain information about the title and the access you have to its features.
You can alter the sort order of items by clicking on one of the column headers (i.e. click on Title to sort all items by title). The currently selected column is shown by having a small arrow next to it. You can toggle the sorting between ascending and descending (shown by the direction of the arrow) by clicking on the selected column header.
Preview titles in the list will have an option to purchase the item. Clicking on the Cart Icon will take you to the Store and add the title to your cart. You can then continue shopping, or checkout as described in 3.3.
You can display either all titles you have downloaded, or just titles you have purchased, by clicking on the respective heading in the top right of the library (either Show All or Purchased Only
(note: You can also find a summary of the last 10 titles played in Digital Music Notebook on the My Homepage tab)

To delete titles from your keyboard, select the titles to be deleted in the Songs On Keyboard list and click on the Remove button.
